The Practical Nursing Program prepares students for the a future Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role. An LPN is a valuable member of the health care team that provides quality care to clients from diverse populations and ages. Employment typically is with clinics, long-term care, assisted living, home care, treatment facilities, and hospitals depending on your location.
SCC has smaller class sizes, expert instructors, and lower tuition than many other area colleges. The college provides an excellent education at a reasonable cost. A Practical Nursing Diploma can be earned in two semesters after the pre-nursing requirements are completed. Once accepted into the Practical Nursing Program, you will be able to enroll in nursing (NURS) classes. Successful completion of the Practical Nursing program provides eligibility to take the NCLEX-PN exam enabling you to obtain the LPN credential for entry level practice.

LPN to RN Transition Plan
As an LPN interested in earning an Associate in Nursing Science (RN) degree, you will be granted advanced standing and start your program with a transitional course to establish the foundations of the RN role. In addition, as a returning LPN, you will follow an RN adjusted course plan that takes your previous nursing education into account.
Industry Credentials
Successful completion of the Practical Nursing program provides eligibility to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurse (NCLEX-PN) enabling you to obtain the LPN credential for entry-level practice.

Nursing Informational Sessions
Individuals who would like to learn more about the Registered Nursing or Practical Nursing programs at 色中色 should attend one of our monthly Nursing Information Sessions. Sessions are scheduled for two hours each. Participants should arrive 5 - 10 minutes early for check-in before the session. Some topics that will be discussed:
