色中色 (SCC) offers a variety of college credit-earning options for high school students. In partnership with high schools, strategies are being implemented to allow high school students to begin college and prepare for a career while in high school. Courses are free to students saving students thousands of dollars in tuition every year.
Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO)
Students can get a jump start on earning college credits by taking college courses while they are still in high school through Minnesota鈥檚 PSEO program. This program allows students to take college courses tuition-free, saving both time and money on completing a college degree. PSEO courses may also fulfill high school course requirements and count toward a high school diploma.
Early/Middle College
The Early/Middle College Program at SCC allows students who are currently enrolled in a partnered Alternative Learning Center (ALC) the opportunity to earn college credit towards a high school diploma and a college degree.
Concurrent Enrollment
Concurrent Enrollment (CE) is a dual credit option that provides high school students with the opportunity to take college-credit bearing courses taught by college-approved high school teachers within their high school setting.
Articulated College Credit
Minnesota high school students (grades 10, 11, 12) may explore career opportunities through specific high school courses. Students may then receive Articulated College Credit through one of the colleges participating in the Minnesota Career and Technical Consortia. The Consortium is a group of Minnesota high schools and colleges working together to provide students a link from high school to college. More than 40 SCC classes have established articulation agreements with area high schools, offering full or partial credit.
