Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024
Minnesota provides you with three voting options:
- Vote in person. You can vote on November 5 at your polling place. Polls are open 7:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m.
- Vote by mail. Your absentee ballot must be received by mail by Election Day or it will not be counted. Return your ballot by mail or package delivery service (such as FedEx or UPS). You can also return your absentee ballot by 8:00 p.m. on election day to the election office that sent your ballot. You cannot drop off your absentee ballot at your polling place on Election Day.
- Vote early in person. You can vote before Election Day at an .
If you have not registered to vote and meet , you can register in person at an early voting location before Election Day or at your polling place on Election Day by providing proof of residence. If you have any questions, contact your campus voting coordinator for more information.
Register to Vote
Unlike many states, you can wait until Election Day to register in Minnesota. However, we encourage you to register before Election Day鈥攊t will save you time at the polling place.

Who Can Vote?
To vote in Minnesota, you must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old on Election Day, and a resident of Minnesota for at least 20 days. If you had a felony conviction, you can vote if you are not currently incarcerated, even if you are on probation or parole.
