Faculty Highlight - Amy Brown
Amy Brown is deeply invested — in her students' learning journey, her community's well-being, and the world around her. A proud SCC Paramedic program graduate, Amy's teaching journey began as an adjunct instructor over a decade ago, culminating in her full-time role in 2020. Her passion lies in guiding students through impactful learning experiences tailored to their diverse needs. Armed with certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Community Paramedic, Amy enriches her teaching with critical thinking tools, ensuring her students grasp essential healthcare concepts from multiple perspectives.
Named SCC's Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year for 2024, Amy's dedication to learning extends beyond the classroom. As a current paramedic, she remains at the forefront of her field, applying her knowledge in real-world settings. Additionally, Amy is pursuing a degree in applied leadership, furthering her expertise in empowering others in healthcare roles. Beyond her professional life, Amy cherishes moments with her family, finds solace in nature, and delights in drives with her German Shepherd in her trusty convertible.
