Satisfy your DOT hazardous material security requirements with Transport of Hazardous Materials training from CWE.

All personnel involved in the shipment of hazardous materials (including hazardous waste) are required to receive initial DOT hazardous materials training and recurrent training every three years. According to 49 CFR 172.704, DOT hazardous materials training is required for personnel classified as 鈥渉azmat employees,鈥 defined at 49 CFR 171.8 as employees who perform any job functions that affect the safe transportation of hazardous materials, including personnel who:

  • Load, unload, or handle hazardous materials
  • Label, mark, inspect, or design containers
  • Place hazardous materials into containers
  • Prepare hazardous materials for transportation
  • Prepare bills of lading or hazardous waste manifests
  • Operate a vehicle used to transport hazardous materials

What you will learn:

  • Determine which of the materials shipped from your site are classified as hazardous materials
  • Select packages that meet DOT requirements for your hazardous materials
  • Properly fill and seal packages
  • Mark, label, and placard hazardous materials
  • Take advantage of exceptions for limited quantities, consumer commodities, reverse logistics, and materials of trade
  • Complete and certify accurate shipping papers
  • Implement the 380 recent changes to the hazardous materials table
  • Provide emergency instructions and ensure the safety of hazardous materials
  • Comply with new requirements for emergency phone numbers, hazardous material ID numbers, and batteries
  • Satisfy your DOT hazardous material security requirements
