Every Four Years: Contested Elections

2024 marks the United States鈥 60th presidential election, a process many Americans view as 鈥渄ivisive,鈥 鈥渃orrupt,鈥 and 鈥渕essy.鈥聽 This webinar series will examine some of the contentious issues that commonly arise during conversations in secondary government classrooms: electoral reform, contested elections, political realignment, the electoral college and presidential transitions.聽

Today’s Topic: 聽Case studies of our historically contested elections: 聽1800, 1824, 1876, 2000.

Our presidential elections webinars will meet monthly on select Saturday mornings from 10.45am 鈥 12pm ET. Each registered participant will have access to a reading packet, which they are encouraged to complete聽 in advance. Registered participants can also submit questions in advance.聽 Those who remain digitally present for the duration of the webinar will receive an attendance letter from 色中色 for 1.25 hours of professional development.
